BJP leader Tamilisai Soundarajan asserted on Tuesday that the BJP-AIADMK alliance is poised to form the next government in Tamil Nadu, accusing the ruling DMK of stalling the state’s progress and being mired in corruption allegations.
Speaking to ANI, Soundarajan said, “In the next elections, BJP, AIADMK and our alliance will come to power in Tamil Nadu. The Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and his ministers are halting the development of the state. Over nine ministers are facing corruption charges. They are looting public money, and to cover up their failures, they are blaming the central government.”
She alleged that the DMK government is misusing taxpayer funds while attempting to deflect accountability by targeting the Centre for political gain.
Her remarks came just hours after Chief Minister MK Stalin, during a speech in the Tamil Nadu State Assembly, projected optimism about the DMK’s future. Stalin said he was confident that the DMK would return to power for a seventh time, citing successful welfare schemes and industrial growth, especially Tamil Nadu’s 42.2% share in India’s electronics imports.
Stalin described his current tenure as “Dravidian Model Government Part 1”, announcing that “Version 2.0 is loading in 2026”, with promises of further development.
During the same session, Stalin also responded to VCK MLA Sinthanai Selvan’s appeal by announcing the removal of the term “Colony” from all government records, calling it a symbol of historical oppression against the Scheduled Castes.
“The term ‘Colony’ defames scheduled caste communities. It is a symbol of untouchability and oppression. We will remove it from all official records and discourage its public usage,” he declared.
The political exchange highlights the intensifying battle for narrative control as Tamil Nadu edges closer to its next electoral cycle.
